Rep. Weber (R-Austin) files bill to establish prostitution courts

On March 1, Representative Randy Weber (R-Austin) filed HB 1994 that provides for the statutory establishment of prostitution courts in Texas.  The bill curernt has two co-authors, Rep. Aaron Pena (D-Edinburg) and Larry Taylor (R-League City).  The introduced bill can be found at http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/82R/billtext/pdf/HB01994I.pdf#navpanes=0.

Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program Open for Applications

The Department of Justice's Drug Court Discretionary Grant program is now open for applications.  The deadline for applying is February 11, 2010.  If you received a grant from the Governor's Office, you probably have a stipulation that you must apply for this funding.  More information on this grant program can be found here:  http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/BJA/grant/10AdultDrugCourtSol.pdf
